Hi Guys, I guess this is my cue to reveal that I've taken the post of 997 RS !!

I'm thrilled to have the role ! I'm absolutely passionate about the 997, and it's great to be part of this experience so early in the car's lifecycle. We've got the C4's launched here next month, then the GT3 and Turbo, and then all of the specials still to come.

On a personal note this is a new experience for me, and I have a very hard act to follow ! 997 owners are obviously highly astute and very demanding, and it's going to be a challenge to bring us together with events that meet our expectations. Derek organised some excellent factory tours and I have Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin but a stones-throw from my new home in Solihull. But I think there must be many more different types of event that would bring us together, such as a 997 track-day, dinner at the Bluebird club in West London etc. Please send me your ideas, it's your register !

Derek and I are meeting next Friday, the 28th, at Cornbury House for the hand-over. If any of you are in the area (it's half-term I think) then please drop-in as it will be great to put faces to names. The following weekend I'm working on the Club Stand at the NEC Classic (4-6th Nov) so please do come and find me and introduce yourselves...! I know many of you through e-mail on the TMC issue, and this is still top of my agenda.

My contact details will be appearing in a PP near you soon, but in the meantime my mobile is 07802 451 253 and e-mail robert.prince@bt.com Don't hesitate to contact me any time, let me know what's happening with your cars or just for a general Porsche chat !

I look forward to meeting you soon !

Congratulations Rob.

All the best in the new role. I'm sure you'll do great [8D]

See you at the Workers Seminar next month. [:)]

Looking forward to a track day with some driving instructors to pass around, as long as the circuit is safe and has WIIIIIDE run-offs (just in case [;)]).

Just got back from holiday and seen the news. Good luck with the role.

Was in Bhutan, in the Himalayas, with a pretty mixed bunch of people I'd not met before (apart from my wife!)

And, yup, one of the guys is taking delivery of a Guards Red 997S on his return.

Spooky.

Peter

Guys, thanks for all your kind words. Have just written Decembers column for the PP so it feels real now ! Look forward to meeting you over the NEC Classic weekend !
