New 997 Turbo specs

Finally decided to take the plunge and trade in my 997 C4S :-(( for a new Turbo :))) I have been proposed a JuIy delivery. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing now with the 997/2 in the horizon.... but been told that the new Turbo wouldn't come before Q4 2009...

Finalising the specs, was thinking of sticking to the same color "basalt black metallic" though I like the "slate grey metallic" also . Thee options I have not decided on yet are the following:
- Manual or Tiptronic? (present is a manual ??)
- Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)? Don't do too much curcuit driving with my own car & been told they are not worth the money for
normal driving
- Rear axle-differential lock?
- HomeLink
- Electronic logbook

More or less decided on the rest of the specs, any and all comments appreciated... HELP!!!

Hi, Be careful with the 997 Gen 2 about to arrive (997 facelift). Though some bits will not be applicable to the turbo, I'm sure at the very least the PCM update will apply. Moreover, the direction injection and DSG gearbox possibly will too.

Dont forget the quickshift gear kit.Makes the gearchange feel very quick and very solid, just superb. My car is here in two weeks, im so excited.I didnt go for the PCCBs, but did drive a demo with them on, they felt fantastic, but then so do the standard steel set up.The brakes are twice as powerful as the car, and if needed i will upgrade the pads.If the standard six pots are not enough for the road, i will eat my hat, and yours.I went for Arctic Silver, as i think it makes the turbo stand out tremendously, with its very bright and shiny finish.Like Alex, i went with the LSD, as it will help nailing all that 505 ft/lb of torque to the road, and it is very well priced.Whatever you deceide on, you will be very happy with your choice, regards, SIMON.[:)]

Personally I'd wait for the facelift or buy used, but thats me, I can wait & I'm tight!

PCCB's are great but too expensive in relation to their benefits on the Turbo IMO, it is in improved ride quality & reduced fade that they really excel!

Homelink can jam laser traps so is an interesting option!!

The mechanical diff is worth having if you are a press on driver or will track the car!

I'd save your money on the logbook!
