[FONT=verdana,geneva"][FONT=verdana,geneva"]Hi everyone......
I've had my 997 C2S six weeks now & just decided to join up as I'm sat at home with a broken ankle. I've just had surgery & can't drive my car which is the main thing that's cheesing me off.

It's an April (06) 2006 with stone grey Bi Colour interior, usual phone pack etc and just touched 6000 miles. The basalt Carrera S alloys were on the car when I purchased it but I've now changed them to a set of standard with gold crested centre caps. I was in two minds whether to go 996 C4S on an 05 plate or 997 C2S...... and this is what I ended up with. Car is fantastic, I just can't get in it for SIX weeks!.

With Sports exhaust & Red seat belt webbing?

The silver finished wheels look the business! Did you have the other wheels repainted or are the wheels new?

Welcome aboard, great looking either way, my preference is the Silver wheels, although I'm aware alot of people like the stealth look.
Hope things mend a little quicker than the six weeks, that or summer waits a little longer for you [:D]

Hi Simon/Gary Yes..... red belts & sports exhaust. The PSE was a MUST have option when buying as it is with anuy purist.

I liked the 'stealthy' hardcore look at first but on a dull day the wheels couldn't be seen. I also think the silver rim aorund the circumference of the black wheels makes them look smaller than the silver. It's instantly obvious, in my eyes.... that the silver standard are far more striking.

The silver wheels are new, I just bought a new set & swapped the Pirellis over. Sold the Basalt wheels on e Bay.......... The bloke got a good buy as they were specced by the previous owner & came from the Stuttgart factory as an option. Very individual but just not my cup of tea.

Nigel,
Very nice, but you need some turbo wheels on to complete the 'aggressive' look!

Hi Chris....... I looked at the Turbo wheels but didn't think they'd fit the C2S due to the offset on the rears?. ie ....... C2S offset is ET67 and the offset on the 997 C4S & TURBO is ET51. The ET67 C2S 'specific ' wheel retracts towards the body by 11mm, and the ET51 obvioulsy retracts outwards & they stick out of the rear arch by 2mm

However, I've seen turbo wheels on this forum fitted to C2S's and my Porsche dealer said they would not fit. ???

What is the offset of your rears? ET51 or ET67?

Very nice car (with the black wheels!) - but I have to accept that's only based on the photos above, and I suspect that you are right that the silver rim is not quite right when you see it "for real".

There must be a way to drive it with only one foot...

Nigel...yes mine are ET51, but my car is a C4S so it is exactly the same as the turbo, ie wider bodied etc. I thought there were things that could be done to fit spacers or whatever so the turbo wheels fitted C2S's. Just had a look on the porsche website, build your car thing and you can spec turbo wheels for a C2S at a price of £555 on a new car, so obviously your dealer is talking rubbish, if you can order one from the factory with them, there must be something you can do to retrofit them.

Nice car mate, sorry about the ankle and Welcome!

Turbo wheels can be fitted to a C2S unless I'm dreaming everytime I look at mine!
