New air-con condensers needed ! Advice?

Hi,

I had my air-con re-gassed and as per Peter Morgans Boxster in this months mag, my condensers are leaking due to trapped leaves, etc corroding the condensers. As I am off to Le Mans on Thursday, there is no chance of getting them replaced professionally in time

So I will be picking up new condensers, receiver/dryer and o'rings from the OPC (only poeple with them in stock and I need then today). So I can replace them tomorrow in the sunshine. I am off to get the gas taken out beforehand and arranged to have it regassed before I go.

Anyone done this ? any advice ?

Cheers

Yes. You'll need to take the bumper off to get at the condensers. After that it is fairly easy. The dessicator is beside the battery (it's on the LHS of my LHD Boxster, but on a RHD it'll be on the other side).
Have a look on Renntech and Boxa.net: there are threads there that'll show you what to do.
If it is leaking I don't think you'll need to get the gas removed, there probably won't be any.

Hi,

I had last 1/2 my gas in 2 days :-( www.readerair.co.uk extracted the rest for no charge which was nice, in fact they are good guys. If you are in Surrey and need a re-gas give them a call.

I replaceed the condensers and receiver/dryer on Sat in the sunshine (read burnt back). Like you say easy job really, harder to take the bumpoer off than replace the condensers. So woohoo cold air for Le Mans!

Cheers
