New Alarm System

For insurance reasons I need to buy as new alarm system for my LHD 94 993 which is currently fitted the original German spec factory alarm/imobiliser system.

Checking the the 993's FAQ's there is a comment to beware of after market alarm systems and to retain the Hamilton Palmer system fitted to Uk cars.

I have been recommended that a Cobra alarm system be fitted as the UK spec Hamilton Palmer alarms are now getting old. I'm not sure what to do any suggestions?

thanks

Bruce

I would check with OPC to what price is to fit the alarm and if you decide to use some other Party, make sure they have fitted alarms to other 993s , I paid bit extra a couple years back and had OPC fit the alarm (PA2000) just for piece of mind. My first 993 had a after market alarm fitted by the previous owner, it was bad job the alarm box was in the foot well region on the passenger side.
There is bound to someone on here who can recommend a third party fitter, Do not try any alarm fitters without recommendation.

You can contact Hamilton & Palmer directly and see if they have something up to date that they will fit for you.

I've found them very helpful for getting spares for my PA100.

They are on 01732 760022.

Speak to Hamilton & Palmer (Inst) Ltd., about this they are very helpful. I obtained new Immobiliser keys & Button handsets for my Feb 94 993 C2 from them last August & also another in Jan this year without any problem. Tel 01732 760022 Address is F1, Watery lane, Kemsing, Sevenoaks, Kent TN15 6PL I am not connected just a vy satisfoed customer.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I spoke to Hamilton Palmer this morning and they quoted £405 for a new PA2000 system. This is less than I have been quoted for the Cobra alarm!

The PA200- is on order, a real no brainer decision

thanks
