Hi guys, new car arrived on Friday and it's now in the garage awaiting sunshine, picture attached.

Hope the pic actually attaches, I have three - but have had some real trouble getting them onto the forum....

Looking forward to getting along to next meet, and hopefully a good few runs over Spring/Summer.

Off to Marine hotel in North Berwick this weekend with my better half, so looking forward to a good run.

I see there a few runs planned in (west coast chip run etc) and hope to come along.

I'll also post next week, weather dependent - as I'm likely to get up early and go a nearby run early Sunday
morning - weather being well. Nothing too far as I need to be back by 11 to take my kids to swimming lessons.

Looking forward to meeting you all in person.

Cheers, Gordon

Not seen any details on that, have I missed something Alan?

Alan, the Cleaning Day is not going ahead so the plan is to do a Breakfast Run instead. I'm sure details will be posted out in the next few weeks.

See you Thursday,
Alan.

Car looks stunning Gordon, cant wait to see it in the flesh. The club is a great way to get out and about and use the car.........but unfortunately Im so tied up in work at present that im not getting out to play much :-(

If the weather keeps up ill call you and pop round some day soon - ill call you first.( ps if your curious about my car youll see it on the posts further down the page called '993 C2 & 997 turbo')

cheers and catch up soon (ps the red ones are faster !!)

The 991 looks awesome - enjoy !

Barry

Cheers guys, looking forward to meeting you all. When is the next Thursday meet?

Barry, is the turbo reg V79? Looks absolutely awesome. Excuse the newbie possible dumb question, but my wife was laughing at me earlier as I'm not keen on taking the car to a hand car wash incase the cloths are not cleaned and damage the paint/supa guard....instructions are to use special cloths. Looking at your turbo would suggest it's treated to tlc on the cleaning and paintwork side, do you clean it yourself or is there somewhere you trust to wash it after a run? Might just be new owner syndrome but given I've built a garage to house it I'm keen to keep it looking shiny and new while still getting plenty miles in the clock!

I'm also tight with work/family commitments at weekends but as the nicer weather comes in I'm going to try get out for 2-3 hours early on a Sunday morning, will let you know when and see if you or any of the others fancy coming along.

Would also love to get a Sat/Sunday booked somewhere up north over the summer, possibly near Glencoe/road to the isles type jaunt with an overnight in a cool hotel. Anybody fancy this sort of thing?

Gordon

Gordon,

Lovely looking car. I look forward to seeing it out and about.

DO NOT TAKE THE CAR TO A HAND CAR WASH.

Dirty sponges and complete lack of care for your car. You will soon get into the way of a foam lance, rinse, two bucket wash with grit guard. All good fun.

Yes avoid hand car washes and drive through car wash machines like the plague .

There is about as much science goes into cleaning your car as there is to build the thing ! Always remember that the majority of light surface paint damage can be caused by the washing action itself - if carried out incorrectly.

Please feel free to pick my brains ....advice is free. I'm in most nights feel free to pop round any time .

Thanks guys, really glad is asked. I did have it washed at a hand car wash first day, but doesn't seem to be any damage thankfully, have checked under the garage strip light and all seems well. I think the recent supa guard application saved it from any damage on this occasion, but will look into the two bucket technique as I'm keen to keep it looking minted. Can you use a pressure washer with a shampoo mix?

Barry, will give you a buzz Thursday night and see if you are around. Weather supposed to be good and I have a few hours off from my domestic line manager so will be out for a quick play if you or anyone fancies it.

Cheers
