New Badge - help please?

Quick one, some scrote stole the badge off my bonnet on Tuesday night. Luckily no damage other than underneath where the badge sits no paintwork needed.

However, going to my local OPC tomorrow morning anyway so thought I may as well have the badge replaced whilst I'm there. However, it's £70 + VAT!!!

Anybody any experience of whether that's expensive or ideas for suppliers other than an OPC.

Thanks in anticipation.

hi look on ebay under porsche, you will find them half the price. They are easy to fit just a rubber seal and a circlip.

I'd recommend extreme caution when buying items like bonnet badges because there are many, many different types. They all look roughly the same, but some are flat, some are curved and I think the sizes differ slightly too. - not to mention the method of fixing. A quick look on PET shows that even 996s up to 2000 used a 993 badge, those after 2000 use a different 996 badge. The 997 may be different yet again.

I suspect many of the sellers on eBay will gladly take your money and have not a clue regarding what car the badge is designed for. I suggest you get a part number and part with your hard earned for nothing but the exact match. Unfortunately the PET I have doesn't cover the 997 else I would offer the information.

Regards

Dave

If you don't find a suitable one anywhere then remember to ask for the 10% discount on parts for club members, most OPCs honour that.

Oh yeah, good call on the discount! I'll ask for that on my replacement key too at £160 (that was nicked while I was playing football but fortunately I wasn't in my car at the time). I live in a decent area, honest!

Thanks for all the advice gents.
