New battery costs

Hi

My battery has died and I need to get it sorted next week.

Does anyone know how much I can expect OPC to charge for replacement and fitting?

Can't say about the fitting, maybe free if you're lucky but no more than 30 mins labour. Depending on type: Battery 70AH : 145.66 - 10% PCGB Discount or Battery 80AH : 177.23 - 10%
 
Thanks Nick. Do you know what their likely hourly rate is? I've been lucky enough not to have to pay for any work yet having only had the car since March last year. The RAC also said that Porsche usually need 24 hours notice to replace the battery as they don't keep them in stock with the acid etc in, do you know if thats true? Cheers
 
They will have stock but may be dry and need acid and charging so best call ahead.
 
I've heard of people paying around £240 maybe a little more for battery and fitting. Don't forget the club discount too. Most here try to buy and take home, topping up the charge before fitting helps longevity they say. You could ask about warranty on the battery as your car is such a recent acquisition.
 
Thanks, I thought it might be about that. I don't really want the hassle of fitting it myself so I think I'll just pay up, with the discount of course! My car is an 07 so although I only got it in March I shouldn't think they'll cover it under the warranty. Thanks for your help. Out of interest, do you know what most OPC's charge for an hourly labour rate?
 
Hi I had the same issue with my 997 prior to Christmas my local OPC fitted anew battery with PCGB discount for £212.00 inclusive of vat. Cheers JP
 
I just wanted to say thank you to JP as OPC said £267, I mentioned your cost and all of a sudden it was £215! So thank you for saving me £50!
 
Hey Wolfy - my OPC have just quoted me £348 for supplying and fitting a new battery to my 997 said to be inclusive of PCGB discount. Sounds like I'm being ripped off? AL
