Hi All,

I'm Mike, I purchased my first Porsche (Boxster 987.2 2.9 PDK) last Friday from Ashgood Sportcars & Classics, an amazing bunch of people that really know there stuff.
I've already got my first show booked in with R24 - this Sunday @ The Kimbolton Country Fayre.

Went out last night for nice summer evenings drive and took some photos whilst I was out so thought I'd Share them.

Hi Mike and welcome. You have a lovely looking car there, smiles per miles are bound to be high! Hope you enjoy your first meet.

The location for the pics seems familiar where did you take them?

The first four photos are at the Gates of Old Warden Park, Old Warden, Bedfordshire and the rest were taken in Southill, Bedfordshire. I live near the Cardington Hangers so have some great country roads to drive around.

Hi Mike, looks mean in black [8D]
Thanks, yours look's good in silver too. Out of the cars I looked at my only options were Black and Silver and there was one that was a Really Dark blue. The one I got had the best package overall and had just had new Discs and Pads fitted all round which means that's one big expense I don't need to worry about for a while.

Looks like it's going to be a hot one Tomorrow John.

Yes its going to be hot!

Two creams required.

One as Mike says for the Sun[:)]

Equally important is cream two, for the strawberries:ROFLMAO:

See you latter

So it's not much of a Mod but it's still quite cool.
With the car being a 2011 Model it has an old 30 pin iPod Y Cable and the PCM3 version not having Bluetooth Aux the car doesn't have an easy way to stream with modern phones except using an AUX cable which loses quality.
So reading up on some reviews I read about the Tune2Air 1000 which is a 30pin Ipod Bluetooth Module that plugs into the Y Cable that is used in older UMI (Porsche), MMI (Audi) etc cars. As this module is quite old it's harder to find, however I found that the Product was rebranded to the Bovee 1000. So ordered one for the states it cost about £100 including import charges and shipping which is quite expensive however it is far cheaper than replacing the PCM3 with a modern double din.
The cool thing is that it lets you control the iPod control of you iPhone straight from the PCM3 interface and if you use Spotify, once you have started the playlist you can use the Previous and Next buttons on the PCM3 to restart the Song or Skip to the next and it shows you the track information too.
Here are some pics.

The last pic is from a DAB Radio App on the phone, I couldn't change the stations without access to the phone but it show track information, however this is down to the App, I will try some other Apps and see if any work better, Like Spotify does.

You will have many miles of pleasure in that car, nothing I have owned has given me more smiles to the gallon, and the sound, well nothing more to say on that. :p

This is an interesting product, I wonder if it will work with the 987.1 Boxster, I notice you have a USB that is not on mine, and I assume that it picks its power up from the USB ?

I’m assuming that the USB on the UMI provides the power, but I haven’t tried using a different power source 12v USB adapter.

i would imagine if you have an iPod connection that doesn’t require a USB port for power then the Bovee would still work as it would powered by the iPod connection.

i have also since found an app called radio player and once you add your favourites you can use the previous and next buttons to change to the favourites Radio stations which is cool.

only minor thing is that if you go from Spotify or the radio app to the iPod you need to use the phone to go back to app for it to come up on PCM same if you want to go from radio app to Spotify or vice versa.
