I just thought I had better introduce myself in here and get involved before I need help and just appear out of the blue like a leech!

I have recently bought myself a 996 (Already introduced in the 996 section) and at the same time got the wife a 2002 Boxster S to keep her happy about what I spent buying the 996.

So far I am really impressed with the whole Porsche package, from the people I have met so far with Porsche, through to even my local independent Porsche specialists JMG who have been really helpfull and remarkably affordable (more so than the BMW and Mazda specialists I am used to)

So, I am looking forward to getting involved in here and HELLO!

oh. Thinking about it, I already have some questions, so it will be a new thread then I guess.

Hi folks

Am now the proud owner of a Zenith Blue Boxster 2.5, 1999, with just 19,000 miles on the clock and full Porsche dealer service history. I purchased it from Mortimer Prestige Cars for £8,790 last week.

So far, no issues except that once, the windows wound down a few cm as though the roof had been unlatched, so maybe that's a roof microswitch issue. Will keen an eye on it. She is pristine throughout and I'm looking forward to many miles of great motoring.

My last performance car was a red Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV. The boxster is less WOW and a bit slower but more FUN! [:D]

Welcome, you have come into Boxster ownership just at the right time. (The sun is out)

re: the roof a simple micro-switch problem can be swapped with ease.

Thanks guys, I feel better knowing there are some Porsche gurus in here to help if/when things go pearshaped.

The weather has turned at just the right time, as you say. Will go out for another spin later :)

If you think the fun has just started with the sun coming out - join the club!

What better way to enjoy your car with fellow enthusiast up and down the country.

Monthly Regional meets, local and natinonal event, even trips abroad, monthly mag, the forum, the Boxster Register, in fact the sun nevers goes down when you are a club member![;)] (I wish)

I looked at that car a couple of days before you bought it. It looked very nice, although I felt I wanted something a little newer - bought an 05 2.7l with 47k miles for £13.5k a few days later from the same place. Has been fun so far..... hope you continue to enjoy yours
