New Boxster Owner

Well, not quite, I have owned her for around 10 weeks now, so thought its time I showed up on a post! This is my first Porsche at the ripe age of 50!
Anyway I have a 986 03 Speed Yellow S which I purchased possibly a bit impulsively. Basically sold my lovely Caterham supersport I had owned for five years, started looking for a more practical car that my wife would actually want to drive and enjoy as much as me. Looked at S2000's which I thought looked good, but I can't use an engine the way you're encouraged to do, ie rev it to the max, then onto a Z4 which I began to like, almost bought a good 3.0, but got beaten to it. I had looked at Boxsters on line and thought, no, can't do that, too expensive, didn't believe that I should be able to own such a car, etc. A friend has a 987 2.7 and said go for it, and another had a 2003 S who backed up the other opinion. SO I spotted my one at an Aston Martin dealership, which was a good place to start, and frankly I loved it from the first turn of the engine. Left a deposit that evening, picked it up a few days later and have covered around 1500 miles since and just love it. I would say she is not highly specced, 17" wheels, sports seats, upgraded stereo with ipod connection stuff, oh and she's a tiptronic, but not much else. Mind you doors and windows are an extra compared to a Caterham!
Right thats it from me for now, hello to all in the club, pleased to be a part of it, looking forward to many miles and years of happy Porsche driving
