Just logged in for the first time, having just bought my first Porsche (1983 911 3.3 Turbo), and keen to get to know more about what I've bought, and what I can do to get the best use out of it. I had a VX 2.0 Caterham HPC in 2007, but got little use out of it due to the weather, decided to try something with a roof! Any tips on service, parts & maintenance appreciated, she's an old lady with some issues, but I am looking forward to playing. I am North West based (Southport), any advice would be welcome.

Welcome [;)]

Sounds like you've got yourself an interesting car. What colour, spec etc.

You've got a couple of great independents on your doorstep who should hopefully be able to help with all aspects of ownership & maintenance.

Safe driving.

It's a completely standard LHD 3.3 Turbo, started life as a demo car in Saudi, and then sold to someone in the petrochemicals industry before being imported to the UK with just 31,000kms on the clock. It has spent the last 8 years in a private museum (I don't know why), and as such hasn't turned a wheel in all that time. I have had it just a couple of weeks and am finding some issues with it, mostly down to lack of use I think, but time will tell. Mechanically & bodily in fine condition, interior needs work which I will do over the next few months. Thanks for the tip on service, didn't know about the Liverpool one, right on my doorstep.

Hi newbie[:)]

You also have Classic car workshop in Coppull, Kev & Cath very helpful, give them a bell and they will do an inspection for you. 01257 792 006

Also John at unit eleven Warrington 01925 852000 John did an inspection for me.

Had work done by both and recommend them.

Show us some pics.

Welcome aboard.

I do hope you don't have to endure anyway near as much pain as I've had to in my 5+ years of ownership!

Only real piece of advice is watch out for lift-off oversteer! [:)] (But I'm sure, if you had a VX220, you can probably handle it.)

Sorry, what colour is your car? Full-leather / half-leather interior? (If you've posted up a picture, I'm afraid I can't see it from here.)
