Hi ,

just picked up my 997 C2S 05, from independent dealer having trader my 993.

Really pleased with it overall, much more civilised and modern. On drive back the tyre pressure monitor came on saying low pressure on both driver side tyres. I stopped and checked at a garage and they seemed fine so drove home, by the time i got home (150 miles) the warning said flat tyres, again checked and they were fine. I take it the sensors are buggered? if so have easy/costly is it to have them sorted out and where is the best place to go? The dealer i bought the car from is some way off and i'd rather not go back there unless its a very costly fix.

Also the heated seats and cigarette lighter/12V are not working (yes i know i should have checked!), are they all on the same fuse?

Thanks

Sam

Sam,

I would be taking the car back to your supplying dealer as these faults if not pointed out at the time of purchase should IMHO be rectified by the supplying dealer.

Good luck...

The wheel sensors should have been replaced around the 4 year point. If the car has a full Porsche service history then they would have been changed.

A dealer with a diagnostic tester will be able to check the sensor age and battery life etc.

The same goes for your other problems as typically they are down to faulty control units rather than a simple fuse. It maybe a simple reset especially if the independent dealer has disconnected or swapped the battery over recently.

If you are needing new sensor for each tyre they are around 97 pounds each, plus the hassle and expense of have the tyres removed, refitted and balanced.

You can have the tyre warning totally disabled but I would see where you stand with current sensors and the selleng dealer first.

A tip for all, if you have your tyres changed at the 3+ years point it would be prudent to change the sensor at the same time.

+1 on that. Have you spoken to them about the faults and if so what was the response?

Thanks for the replies.

I have spoken with the dealer and they are happy to sort out the issues its just that they are a fair few miles away so i was just checking it was not something obvious I was doing wrong. I also have a warrenty and so can take the car to any local inde if needs be. However (touch wood) the tyre issue now seems to be OK, this morning I used my home pump to do all the tyres acurately and now no warning. New rears were just fitted so possibly the monitor is just adjusting?

Regarding the electrics, I'll check fuses first jsut to be sure.

BTW does any one have a list of option codes? I just want to check the full spec.

Cheers

I do remember that if a car has had a battery failure/replacement that some systems may need resetting - those included the heated seats and others.
