New car got a bit hot today

Out for a spin today in the 944..got to some traffic...waited...gauge went up....and up....."ooh...this is bad"...listened for fan...nothing happened....."sxxt"....line of traffic wasnt moving....thought "sxxt"..finally pulled over to cool down. managed to get home later and had a tinker around. Got the dredded Haynes book out. Popped into work and picked up a rad fan switch just incase..checked relay, took wires off..bridged them as per instructions...fan came on (well thats a start at least)...discovered rad fan switch listed in intermotor parts book was wrong..cursed a wee bit....took terminals out of there shroud to discover they were a bit corroded up. Took some wet n dry to them.. cleaned up terminals and switch contacts..plugged back together..nothing happened...ran engine till temp started to rise...fan kicked in!..."shamone mother fucker!"..:) big victory dance round carpark...put the kettlle on [:)]
 
You can use the heater to cool them in Summer; even series one cars. I ran my track day car without a fan for months...
