New car has arrived! :O)

Finally parted company with my 3.2 and picked up the RS today. Wet windy and not a day for testing its limits. Sitting on the wrong side meant I kept looking for the gear stick on the left! Wheel spins in second not a problem. Lots more low end torque than the Carrera. Impressive to say the least. Can't believe it is only got 70bhp more!

Got it moving and thought I was doing ok but overtaking was the next headache. The one behind was off past before I could see it was clear!

Hopefully the weather in Spa will be better for trying out the new toy this week! Philippe can show me the way to go and Tom from H&S might pop over as it is his old car! Good providence at least. It has been thrashed by the pros! Where do I sign up for the RS register? Is there an initiation ceremony to go through. Rolled up trouser legs and sacrificing brakes and discs to the high priest Melv ;O)

Congrats Charles

Ceremoniously destroying a cupholder whilst wearing a badger hair merkin should suffice as an initiation [;)]

And chanting 'Leichtbau, leichtbau, leichtbau'.

Welcome Charles.....

Cheap ol' badger hair eh Dom? I'll have you know that Mel's Merkins are made of high quality, personally harvested Tibetan yak hair. And you guys thought I'd gone to Europe for the summer.....[:D]

Back from Spa in one piece ) What a circuit! The car's not too shabby either. Got 225kmph down the straight and even got round the corner at the end!

Photos through the bus stop will be posted when they arrive.

Got overtaken by a GT3 though. Opps, let the 964RS side down.

Thanks to Philippe for showing me the way round.

Charles,
No disgrace , only to be expected really.

Enjoy your new car.

Regards Richard.

Des, this one MUST try harder. Would you take him aside and give him a gentle talking to? [;)]

Oh, forgot to say it was a GT3 996 Cup car. What a noise. It had the racers names on the window. It wasn't one of these road going shopping trolleys like Richards ;O)

It seems the race teams use the PCSF days as a cheap practice session for Porsche Cup events. Going by the trailers and mechanics running around it was serious stuff. I only had my gloves and old helmet off ebay and no semi slicks as a support vehicle was not present.

Next year my wife has agreed to take her Lupo with the spare tyres and we can make it up the kerbs at the entrance to Moet et Chandon with her car! The RS is too low for touring the Champagne region. Failed to make it into the car park at Moet, Taitinger and Mercier!
