New Car - new problem

Hi - I have recently acquired this 2.5 Lux

She has 145K on the clock, full dealer history, all receipts including original bill of sale (nearly 30K) and you would be hard pressed to find a mark on her. All those little things advised as 'to do's' in the service notes have been seen to promptly but someone somewhere has missed something - the sunroof doesn't work!

I also have an '84 'Mk1', which will be for sale soon, and have really enjoyed the sunroof during the two summers I have had the car, especially with it out and behind the seats whenever possible. So with spring on the horizon can anyone advise on this. There doesn't even seem to be any way of raising the roof manually (it's not even mentioned in the Haynes manual) so all I get is a muted click from the back of the roof when the switch is pressed!

Help!!!!

Thanks - Martin

On the motor in the boot there is a bolt head that you can use to manually raise the sunroof. Ive heard manual sunroof kits somtimes pop up on ebay.

I've seen that car on here recently - the unusual spolier rings a bell - its not the usual S2 bridge spoiler

Phil you are really good at tracking down cars we've discussed in the past. That's twice you've found this one now.

I recognised the spoiler too and spent a few minutes trying to find our previous discussions - you are the master [:)]

Martin - hopefully the Clarks guide will help you sort out the sunroof without resorting to making it manual

thanks Paul !! Its easily done by going onto your own profile and looking through the last 50 posts section.
