Got a replacment for the Porker

Just for the winter mind.... [:)]

1996 VTEC-E 1.5 its a minter, £300 including 4 months MOT & TAX. Will run for years. Well chuffed.

I tried running a 3rd car for commuting/ winter etc but it didn't save me any money and the overheads (purchase, tax. MOT, insurance) just used up money I could be spending on the 944's. Plus I was always thinking 'I wish I'd brought the 944 today' [&:]

Its not just for the winter, I will be commuting 160miles a day next year so i needed something that would handle that with easy, so i bought my wife the honda and i am stealing her Golf TDI [:D]

Well it does get 60mpg.

The porker is going into storage as of today, and might not be out till start of May, just have to see how much time i have in the new year to do the work i want on it. Nearly time to get those ARBs orderd [:D]

That was exactly my Golf GTI experience. I was petrified the Golf would go wrong and wipe out the £70 a month (tops) it was saving me in one go. Not worth the hassle, although I understand Slim's reasoning.

Nah, it goes round corners great. Time for you to get a huuuuuge great Turbo I think []

No I really dont need any more power. Handling tweeks from now on. I will leave the turbo upgrade to the guys on rennlist where they clearly have a need to travel at more then 170mph!!!!

Wheres your head in relation to the cage and in particular, the lugs for the front section? Id like to see a lot more pictures, please.

Congratulations

Some interesting features, wonder is it early enough to have the forged rods, It will be a M44/51 engine, I think it could have 'em.

Is there an AFR gauge to confirm those maps are safe?

Nice stance too.

good luck with it

George, yes there is. the maps have yet to be set up,there is a rolling road near to me, i guess i will be paying them a visit fairly soon.

yes indeed, couldn't help myself. had nice drive back so much so that i missed the m25 and had to contend with lots of traffic and to fight my way back out, doh.
not as clean as my lux by a long way but its got potential.

only thing was as i was sitting in traffic and some more traffic the voltmeter kept going down and down.
i was getting rather concerned and turned all of the electrics off,got home ok,grabbed the voltmeter pulled back the carpet, shock horror the battery was held in place with a load of wadding because the battery is the size of a postage stamp.
probably of a putch maxi lol but it was fully charged.
so i think a new one will be the order of the day.

If mine is anything go by, the battery is the cheapest thing to change on a turbo, bar the wiper blades! Enjoy.

Looks great mate - even needing a little bit of tidying that was a bit of a bargain. If I was still looking that one would have been a no brainer.

Look forward to seeing some pics once you've tidied her up a little.

i shall be doing a few before and after shots, just trying to arrange a rolling road to set the maps up. i do have the software and the laptop but dont really know what i am doing so beast left to the experts!
it looks better in the pictures ! lots to do but lots of fun!
