Hello all

I currently own a 944S2 but have been offered a LHD Carrera 3.2 on an F plate for £8000.00
Pound it seems in good shape a little bit of bubbly rust around the windscreen and rear screen and bumper bottoms. it has no obvious leaks done 17000 km and the interior is looking ok for the age he has agreed to have it serviced before i buy what does any one think sound like a good 944 replacement??

Thanx

Paul

Rust around the screen/rear screen, F plate, 17,000 Km - sounds a bit odd.
My E plate, 119,000 miles has no rust (OK, RHD).
How much will the rust cost to fix ?

The 3.2 is a great drive (mind you, I enjoyed the 944/944S2 cars that I borrowed - easier to drive if you don' t pay attention; no, I didn' t really say that !)

I would be wary if it was me, the rust doesn' t sound good, mine is ' 84 with none yet 112,000 miles...so where has it been kept to get like that. as a left hooker it is never going to be an investment...more for enjoyment, I would suggest you have it inspected by a specialist of your choice....they charge around £75-125, but most will give some/all that back if you take it to them for the next service....without this expert help to check out at least the bodyshell, your previous enjoyment of Porsche ownership with a 944 could turn into a 911 nightmare!

In this instance, and for this cost, I wouldnt be too concerned at the service record, engines are generally sound with no leaks, (the early 964' s suffered with that) but you have to be sure you have a straight car.

If the car is honest...is it metallic or solid colour, alot of expense to repair and respray if it' s metallic as you cannot just spray the affected panels.

Good Luck[&:]

Hmmm it is mettallic paint but the rust isn' t that bad just small bubbling under the paint I doubt I would get it fixed. Can anyone recomend a good specialist near the chichester area where i could get it serviced and checked? not an OPC thanx.
