New Cayman 981 owner

Hi all, thought I would post up some pictures of my new pride and joy collected last weekend. I have been looking for a boxster/cayman for over a year now after having BMW's for as long as I can remember. I finally found the right spec car and I am absolutely loving it, I can't believe how different the Cayman is from anything I have owned previously it really is a drivers car.

The spec is:
-PDK
-PSE
-PDLS headlights
- Sport chrono
- Nav
- BOSE
- Luxor beige full leather/ Basalt black
- Sports seats with memory
- Cruise control
- Folding mirrors

And a few other bits.. It has everything i wanted and more, first thoughts are wow the sports exhaust is loud and I think I actually prefer it in quiet mode as you can hear more of the engine and what an engine! The car seems to move about a lot under throttle and off throttle I am unsure if that is the suspension or just mid engined but it feels adjustable and I like that. The Bose audio is OK at best but its quite a loud cabin so I wasn't expecting miracles, PDK is superb and I have got my head around the silly buttons now as I have the multi function wheel.

Plans I have are GTS rear lights, LED side repeaters, X73 suspension (on the fence here its a lot of money and UK roads are bad), Interior headliner trim in black alcantara to break up the beige and maybe more, I am already planning a trip to Germany in october to visit her home town!

Would love to hear your thoughts!
Chris

Is that the Reading PC?

I've seen mixed feelings about PSE on the 981 so understand you thoughts. I am very surprised to hear that it is squirming about under throttle and off throttl. I am just swapping my '65 plate 981 and that was very planted in most circumstance. Did the car get a recent wheel alignment check as I have heard that poor alignment can result in poor handling. Others on the forum who know more than I (about everybody) will hopefully give you some better informed advice on this.

Enjoy your car.

If you have PASM, I'd leave it be. In Sport setting it's perfect IMHO.

If you have standard suspension, I'd drop the X73 suspension in or maybe look at some aftermarket options? Bilstein or Ohlins?

Porsche Reading indeed!

The car doesn't have PASM which is why I am tempted by x73 but it hardly feels wallowy so wonder if its worth it. I have just today booked it in for a full ceramic coating as the black is so easy to scratch and I am worried every time I wash it!

More photos for you!

I am using a chap called Bradley at concours Detailing. I have used him before on a c63 and it was brilliant, protected the car for 2 years with barley any swirl marks and made it much easier to wash. He does inside and out, coats all the wheels as well as the plastics.

If you not happy with the suspension take it to Center Gravity and see Chris Franklin he will sort it and set it up to suit your driving style.

it will be money well spent.

If you driver any car fast enough it will start to move about under you :ROFLMAO:
