has anyone here ever dropped a '64 engine them selves? ive done quite a few engine builds/swaps/clutches on beetles and karmanns and while i know they are not the same, its not a hard job to get the engine out.. just wondering more for myself whether its something a competent diy-er could do?..

Rennlist is the place to find that out Ben. Loads have done it on there. And recently a guy on boxa.net posted a full write up about dropping a gearbox on his boxster to do a clutch and RMS.

Thanks guys, I've been looking to get my clutch from the states to save some money (insurance and main service and MOT is also due next month). Found the clutch for £182 compared to £389 over here, spoke with Northway and comfirmed the part was genuine just waiting for shipping and import taxes price back. I'm booked in for the end of March so have time.
Any chance you could pass on the link of the supplier???

Waiting to here from Clive Smith who use to service my 944 Turbo on a cost to replace clutch as I don't think it will last till end of March for Northway to repair, this is my everyday car.
