New concourse champion

Well, not quite. Did get your attention though....[:)]

Very proud to see my neighbour's very "honest" 1985 Lux win tonight's R21 concourse Front-Engined category. Was washed at home, but drove through filthy weather to Hatfield, and left to sit amongst the teams of highly-skilled professional polishers who seem to miss the point of "show what you drove"!

Over 200k miles, a daily drive through West London and the M25 and you can still win a cup. Restored my faith in concourse events!

Excellent news Paul,

How many were in the front engined category? [;)]

Didn'y you win a couple of years ago?

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm......[8|]

About ten, and I'd have said that the nice red turbo ( not WUF) was pretty good, and both 968s were better. The extra points for age and mileage, plus the lack of official rules, mean that the more used a car is the better chance it has. Something that's lacking from the entry level "posh" concourse events.

Yes, but it was dark, and my car was in better condition. Last night I was in a rush, and it hasn't even had a wash since the Cotswold Rally. There is a limit to the amount of leeway the judges have!

Good news indeed - I can't see the point of concourse if the car is not used regularly - say at least 6kmiles a year. It's easy to polish a car that is already clean and polished from the last time you did it. These cars are for driving!!
