Nicola,

Search the forum under brakes and you will find a thread called 'drilled discs'

If you go through the posts, there are many recommendations and prices.

I had the front pads changed on my 3.2 last year and recall that Porsche originals are no longer available as originally fitted (I cant remember anything more than that)...so you may need to look at alternatives to OE anyway...

I just thought though...youre wide bodyshell has turbo brakes doesn't it?

got brakes and disks from specialist.
got delivered to work this morning, don't know how i am going to get them to the car, just a little bit heavy!
hubby should be fitting them tomorrow in preparation for our trip to Germany.

I think they are zimmer whatsit disks, cross drilled and vented, with Porsche pads.
including next day delivery £379.

I think they are zimmer whatsit disks

Does this mean that the car dodders down to the Post Office once a week ?

No, she has to get her pension out of the hole in the wall, as they have closed all the post offices!

possibly getting them skimmed and putting in the corner of the garage, never to be seen again!

the discs are x drilled and vented.
Front are badly warped and the backs are corroded beyond recognition.

Nicola,
I know its now too late, Autofarm and a few other specialists offer an in situ disc skimmimg service. This will remove any warping or surface corrosion provided that the discs are still within the wear limits, its also a lot cheaper than new discs.

Tara now has new discs and pads all round. I have noticed that the front near side calliper seems to be a but lazy

can you buy a calliper overhaul kit?

Nic,
What are you going to do with the old disc's? (paper wieghts?)
Can I have em?
You can buy caliper reco kits, I think the last one I brought, for the rear, was around £8 big ones per unit.

Peter,
you are welcome to the old discs.

Ok Nic,
But the obvious question;
where are you?
Are you anywhere near the M6, from Birmingham up to Heysham?
I'm going through there in next few days.
Peter
