New dizzy caps and roters

Had a full (24k) service and new dizzy caps and roters fitted yesterday by the guys at strasse - what a difference - the car is now accelerating without any hesitation and ticking over a lot smoother (although having had new spark plugs in will also have made a difference). Price wise it seemed "reasonable" as the quote from 9m was some £115 plus vat extra - anyone had a similar service lately and at what price?

9M did mine at last service. It was grumbling and stuttering at low revs, when they checked it was totally knackered inside.

It's grumbling a bit when it rains again now though, it goes fine for half a mile then grumbles a bit for a few secs and then picks up; I presume it's when the automatic clutch disengages and it takes a few secs for the engine management to sort it out. It's due new sparkies and leads at next service which I think will sort it. I had a MK2 Golf GTi, I used to change the leads on that every 6 months as that made more difference than anything on a service, it totally changed performance. I'd change them on this more often (I do 20K a year in it) but they're a swine to do and I don't have garage facilities.

So what would the discount be on a 996 battery that the OPC quoted at £200, when in actual fact you can pick them up from £35 with a 2 year guarantee.

Thieves, theives tramps and thieves........that should be the theme tune of the OPC!!![:D]

What I meant by £115 + vat difference was that 9m were £115 + vat dearer on the 24k service (strasse were £403 + vat) Dizzy caps and rotors were £120 parts plus £55 to fit - seemed reasonable to me as I didn't feel confident about tackling them myself. Would be interested to know what other members are paying for services from the specialists.
