New ecu

My friend is looking for a new motronic Ecu i have his old one as i said i would help him source a replacement,it has the number
911.618.111.03 on the top is that the number i need to look for on the replacement?

Yes that should be the Porsche number.
Did the unit fail? if so it might be worth taking the back off the box and checking the connections on my SC one of the links had parted, resoldered lots of money saved.

You can get them repaired in the US - try a call to Pelican or a search on their BBS.

I think a new one is mucho dollero.
 
If all else fails try one of the used parts people like Prestige Salvage in Leeds (07836 540726). I've always found them pretty helpful. There are a bunch of others around, check out PP or any of the independent mags. most of them run adverts.
 
You can get exchange units for circa £300... As I had to have one fitted to my car after it mysteriously failed during its engine rebuild..

You might be able to have it repaired cost effectively at 01202 740025. I would recommend this over swopping one. They repaired a merc unit for me a few years back.
