New exhaust tips for C4

I'm thinking of changing my tail pipes for a set of twin ovals. My car has the GT3 rear bumper, should I get pipes suitable for a C4 or for a GT3 ? The existing ones don't stick out far enough from the bumper and are causing it to melt slightly so I wondered if the GT3 ones were slightly longer and therefore more suitable. Any advice appreciated !

You don't say if your car is pre or post facelift, but in either case the rear bumper is the same on the Carrera as the GT3. It sounds like your current tips aren't adjusted correctly if they are so close it is melting the bumper. There is a lot of adjustment available if you loosen the clamps. (Easy to say, but rusty clamps don't make it easy to do!)

I'm not sure of the difference between the GT3 tips and the Carrera ones. I would just go for 996 Carrera ones if I were you, just in case there is a difference in tube size or length.

Another point to note is that the rear bumper on the facelift cars is deeper than on pre-facelift. The exhaust silencers and mountings are the same, and they compensated by making the downpipe of the exhaist tip longer on the facelift model. Make sure you get the right one, or you may have problems.
