New Guy here!

Hi all

just joined up and going to be on the lookout for a good Gen 1 997 as soon as the 69 Concours TR6 is sold.

I had a new 964 C4 from 1990 -1994, and missed it ever since!

The next 911 will be a weekend/special occasion car, and itching to get back in one.

I'll be watching and seeking some views and advice when the TR goes

cheers all

Rob

Hi Rob, welcome to the forum.

There's quite a few 997 about and plenty of information on here on what to look out for.
Shame you could of kept the TR, I have an itch for one of those after seeing some stunners at last years classic car shows.

Are you thinking C4/C4S or C2/C2S? I have owned my 2006MY C4S for 6 years, use it daily rain hail or shine. Pound for pound the best car I've ever owned.

Hi Gary
Thanks for the welcome.

Well sadly the TR has to go to free up a bit of garage space.
It's not an everyday car so it's time for another enthusiast to cherish some affection on it.

My Wife and kids are not too keen on the TR but a 911 seems to tick some more boxes for all of us to enjoy one!

Completely different motors of course, but a very fine example that someone I'm sure will be snapping up in the spring if not sooner.

I'll keep you posted on search etc and will be visiting my local OPC in Colchester and a few Indys when the time is right

Thanks
Rob

Hi D

Well much will depend on availability of cars but I reckon a C2S with tip is top of the list if I can scratch to a gen2 from OPC that's my favoured route.

Having said that my 964 C4 was a hell of a lot of fun in the early 90s, but no doubt there's a world of difference in the latest 3.8s engine.

I need to have a good chat and some test drives with my local OPC and make up my mind then.
There is of course the argument of 3.6 Carrera or 3.8s?....
Nice position to be in, but the hard part is getting my TR6 sold first... It's valued at £26k but finding a buyer at that level may be easier said than done.

I'll keep you posted but thanks again for the welcome
Cheers

Rob
