New Kids On The Block

Some of you may be aware that myself and Fiona have just taken on the mantle of Regional Organisers for our region. Having just received the 'How to be an RO' manual from Club HQ this week we are starting to feel our way and starting get to grips with the challenge of building a regional committee and putting together an engaging programme of events.

From our perspective, as Club members for the past seven years, we see the Club as a very broad church with members coming from all walks of life with a very diverse range of interests and motivations. Uppermost in our minds therefore will be the need to promote and support a range of events with broad appeal both to existing members and, importantly, potential members. We recognise that the two of us are not going to be able to do this on our own so we will be working with a regional committee over the next few weeks to develop the Cotswold Region events and activities programme together. Ideas will be explored at our next monthly meeting this Wednesday at the Carpenters Arms, Fulbrook. I hope as many of you as possible will come along and share your ideas so we can build on the work that Derek and Geoff have done before us. If you would like to volunteer to help on our regional committee, that would be even better.

And last but not least, on behalf of the whole region we would like to thank Derek Sharpe for all his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm in carrying out his duties as Regional Organiser over the last few years. We wish Derek well in his new role.
