Just had a new knob (that's a phrase you don't see often in an opening line) and short shift fitted by Chris Denning in Cardiff to my 2001 Boxster S and I must say the change makes a big difference to the driving experience. I was always a bit disappointed with the gear change on the Boxster until I recently drove a newish one and found the change, with a short shift fitted, much better (though still not brilliant Porsche if you're listening). It's a lot more precise and noticeably quicker in its ability to shift gear, the downside is that it takes more muscle to get the job done. I thought that might put the wife off but she seems to like it too (damn!) [
