Well, it seems that I either need to sell my car or sell the house as that POS Khan is extending the ULEZ zone for all of greater london?..

The end is nigh..no more ACE Cafe meets for me then...:(

You've been talking about moving out for years. Alternatively I've got 10 big ones here for your old crate :ROFLMAO:.

Haha....what's that for, a 1/3 share...šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

On a serious note though I may well need to sell the car, currently I'm driving under section 88 of licencing laws awaiting the DVLA to pull their finger out with my license....problem is my health has deteriated greatly over the last 18 months and it's only going to get worse...:(

Sorry to hear that Pete.. I haven't driven my turbo for around 12 months, changed the belts and rollers, fixed a few odds and sods ready for the MOT, then bought another bike. The turbo is a dry weather car, so I'm getting it ready now to use this year. Isn't one of your sons interested in your turbo, to keep it in the family?

It would be nice Paul, he is very welcome to it, in fact I have stated my wishes to my wife that the car goes to him if I full off my perch. But he has his business to run in these difficult days. There's also the fact that my two eldest boys will both be affected by the new zone. Currently son no.2 is rebuilding his escort cosworth at his older brothers budiness. Engine is back in, as you can expect it's heavily modified, much more BHP than my 951, he's just installed a Ā£2.5k fuel system and now the entire brake system is being upgraded, to what I have no idea as it already has 6 pot water cooled race calibers.

The car has had many thousands spent on it during his ownership, he built it from the ground up after travelling to Ireland to pick up the ex rally bare shell, it's crazy how much sone of the genuine trim has cost him to replace.

It will certainly be a one of a kind car in top condition both mechanically and body wise.

Kind regards

Pete

Rising taxes will be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of older IC cars, unless they're 40 years old. My 17 year old A4 quattro avant that only did around 1k miles last year, is well over Ā£300 to tax. A 300 bhp Leon Cupra 4 drive or 250 bhp Focus ST estate is half that. Figure in stricter MOT's every year, and the future for cheap old cars doesn't look good.

Right now it's fuel cost that is crippling...I put some V-Max in Thursday, cost 1.74 per ltr, the same station 2 weeks ago it was 1.69 per ltr...at that rate no one will be buying fuel....you don't have to go back far to when it was under 1.40 per ltr...:(

I miss fuelled my Turbo the other weekend before a trip to wales. Put half a tank of super diesel in to the brim. Ā£200 to drain and disposal.

Plus another full tank of Shell e5 plus octane booster.

was an expensive day At whatever the hell the price is.

Made it to wales and back ok though.
