Thanks.
Mark
It is big trouble if you run a rear wing with no front lip, not so bad the other way round -- if you can handle the oversteer -- but you KNOW I can Mark
Decals ORDERED, I've got a rear Porsche script in blue to go along the lower engine lid and a N'Ring decal, may top this lot off with a 3.2 chrome badge on the grille if I can find one -- PLEASE? and possibly a Carrera decal minus the RS on the tail as per original. It looks a bit naked as is but I couldn't resist posting just now.
The car will also look a lot better with my track 7 & 9 blue centered fuchs fitted
Don't you just love this stuff []

Richard, could you put me down for one of those 3.2 badges or give me the Guys email address.
Remember me, I bought the rear seat belts from you, they went in a treat, just right for the school run!!

The paintwork was by Mark Clowes at 9M who is vv good. Grille bought on ebay, v good condition
Ended up costing quite a bit when you add it all up, but I didn't want a crappy one.
V-Zweeden do one as well but I didn't fancy buying abroad and maybe having to return anything. If you check on the Pelican forums the maker of this tail ( M A Shaw ) seems to come out best.
All the holes for mounting the grille, lock and lid supports were in the right place which made fitting v. easy
Just out of interest, how much does the ducktail weigh compared to the original steel rear deck lid with spoiler?
Martin and Walker Ltd (makers of the Porsche 904 GTS replica) are also doing a line in glassfibre parts for the 911.
See http://www.technic-motorsport.com/911%20grp.html
Unfortunately no pictures and I don't know how the quality compares to the MA Shaw items.
Cheers
Anil
I was replacing a non spoilered plain engine lid ,and at a rough guess would say it was 1/3 - 1/2 the weight , so the saving would be even more on a spoilered lid.
The price on the link you posted was 200 pounds + del , so def cheaper the Ess styling , but until you've seen the item you just can't compare.
If you are paying a professional to shape and fit and paint you will spend more in the long run with an inferior product.

The difference in lap times between a duck and a 3.8RS tail is quantified as about a half to a third of the difference of carrying a passenger. Duck vs Carrera tail is probably so little you would be very hard pressed to notice, though I am sure its quantifiable in a wind tunnel.
I have vaguely considered adding a clear perspex strip to the back of my duck to give it a little more effect, mistakenly thinking that the difference might be quite large. Recent discussion on Pelican has put my fears to rest somewhat. If you really want downforce (or increased negative lift) than a 3.8RS tail with high wing is the only way to go. All of the spoilers only decrease lift to varying degrees of effectiveness - Turbo tail is best because of the side "air fences", Carrera tail nearly as good, duck just a little less good and no tail is bad.
I believe ( and may well be wrong !) the there is a vortex caused by the ducktail with should cause more cool air to drop into the engine bay through the grille.
I have a deeply recessed K&N filter which is not in an ideal position to recieve cool air so the ducktail together with my unique and expensive [] induction system should benefit the air intake side of things
