Hi All

Anyone else on here had their Spyder in for its 6 yr service? Mine is due in 20 days so has been booked in. I notice the maintenance guide makes no comment around drive belt swaps being mandatory for a "Boxster" at 6 years, but i did see the GT4 Cayman's must be changed..

Presumably its following the maintenance plan for that then?

Any thoughts?

Many thanks

From memory I’m sure the belt is due to be changed at 6 years - I had mine changed at 4 years on the basis that to carry out the inspection due at that point they had to most of the work anyway. I also had the air filters changed - 6 years just felt like too long an interval from new. The service schedule is certainly not straightforward to interpret and to me feels like it’s primarily constructed to balance out the costs at 4 and 6 years. Personally I’d rather have annual servicing at a sensible cost in the 986 days rather than some of the silly biannual numbers that now seem to be quoted.

The wording in the service guide is a little confusing - if you read it carefully the bit about the drive belt applies to all Boxster models.
