Ah what a glorious day ! My first Porsche arrived!

Joined the PCGB few months ago ( well 19 months - lets say I looove Porsches ) and now waiting for the membership to go through to say full member. Also I amassed a good wealth of information and bugged all of you in a way or another with questions, which some guided me in the right direction and now my first Porsche is sitting on my driveway : a 996 turbo.

Tried a few C2, C4S, GT3, trips and manuals but in the end my heart was set on a 996tt.

What a car - the thing is a beast but very easy to drive. Be it in town or crusing along the motorway is civlized as any other car, floor it and you know you are inside something VERY special.

I wanted a LHD from the start ( long story ) and found a pristine example of it ( actually the car found me - the owner, a PCGB member, emailed me and we set the sale in a couple of weeks ) : super well taken care of, 10/10 in mechanics, always serviced in OPCs, still on extended warranty, owner a very nice chap, humongus pile of invoices.

Still, asked a PPI from Peter Morgan and he confirmed my initial findings : the car is a gem.

34k miles on the clock, 2002 model, all the toys, sports seats, lapis blue, 38k paid. Yes its a buyers market and I would problably could get the price a bit here and there. But since it really tick all the boxes and beyond, I didnt want to get it away.

Hope to meet you guys in a upcoming event !

Heres a picture of her ( all Porsches are ladys... :) )

Mate of mine tried to grow some envy showing off his new fezza 360 but honestly ? I wouldnt trade.. Guess that Porsche taste is something that comes with your dna. Good taste I have to say :)

Congratulations, glad you finally found one!

Be sure to gloat over your friend when he gets the major service bill for his Ferrari...

My Porsche is a Man [:D] well I think he is, might be gay[:-]

ps she looks her feet are dirty, is she a dirty cow[:D]

Very nice. Seems a good price to me based on ads Ive seen around. One day will swap mine for a tt but have been saving for a 50K min budget. Times have changed obviously.
Enjoy.

ps - were you pleased with the Peter Morgan report?

Cheers ! Yes, the price was fair to both I believe - the seller got it good and I got a very good car at a good price.

One thing I learned that is there is no such thing as a cheap Porsche. Buy cheap, buy twice.

50k seems quite a lot - for that you are aiming for a 2003 X50 car with low miles, even normal tt 2004.

As far Peter Morgan goes, the report was fantastic, very detailed, both him and Gordon ( the eng who did the check ) were great chaps to talk with - very helpfull, good timmings, very professional. Very impressed and happy with his PPI.

Cheers
