[/IMG]Hi everybody, I've just today joined the club and been told I'm in region 7, so checking in!!
I bought a 2006 BoxsterS in December as a christmas present to myself, been hankering after a Porsche for longer than I can remember, swapped a smart car that I've had for 13 years for it, so gone from a 699cc car to a 3200cc car, so a little bit of a power hike, haha.
Already been to a Boxster meet (not this club) last weekend and I will be coming to as many meets as I can make, I plan on being an active member, so I hope to see some of you at a few meets

Hi Ellis and welcome.
Being an ex Sheffield guy (now in Leeds) the photograph you posted looks familiar but I can't place it. Is it Langsett reservoir. What area of Sheffield do you live? Send a PM (personal message) if you would like to answer.
Look forward to meeting you at a club night.
Best wishes
Richard

Hi Ellis,

Welcome to the Club and the Yorkshire Region. I would like to think we are a pretty active bunch so be good to meet you soon.

Hi Richard, yes it's Langsett Res. great road for driving, went with 2 other Boxsters, I followed as they knew where they were going and they did'nt hang about, haha, I live south side in Mosborough.
Yes I hope to see you at some meets soon!!!!

welcome and how did I miss this boxster event :0(
Thanks to you all again, and in reply to penkhullwolf, it was a boxa.net meet, not on here, so that's probably why you missed it, it's free to join, someone told me about it on facebook!!!

Hello from another Sheffielder ..!
Always chomping at the bit to get out for a blast in the Peaks whenever I can.
Should organise a drive out sometime?

Why not. I'm in Leeds but ex Sheffield so I guess that I fulfil the criteria. Keep me posted on dates / ideas etc.

Yeah I'm up for a drive out sometime, went to Castleton through the week on a nice sunny day, was a great drive!!!!

Nice pic Ellis, how are getting on with your early xmas present now you've had it a couple of months? [8D]

Mine went all the way from Nottingham, through Wetherby, Skipton, Ottley, Settle, lunch at the Black Horse at Giggleswick, Ribblehead Viaduct, Hawes and the Buttertubs Pass to the Tan Hill Inn in the Dales over the weekend. (...and breathe...:ROFLMAO:)
Through rain, sun, snow and fog.

They're so damned accomplished, i drove just about none stop from 1030am to 400pm on Sunday and when I arrived at my hotel I just got out the car, no drama, no cramp, no stiffness.
For a sports car they're so comfortable.

New member here too, also looking forward to getting out and about on R4 and R8 meets.
Should keep my eyes peeled for when you R7 boys are venturing around some nice scenery

Sounds like a great drive JMR, I was up that way last year doing a sponsored walk, so was a bit more sedate driving a campervan as support vehicle, I thought then that I gotta get a sports car up here, I had a smart roadster at the time, but the Boxster would be even better on those roads.
Yeah, I'm still loving it, no issues so far, it's always scary swapping a car that you've had for 13 years and no issues for a slightly newer but more mileage Porsche, but so far it's a bit sigh of relief, seems very well put together, very accomplished in the twisty stuff and so much fun to drive, love that roar after 4000 revs.
Still hav'nt done my paddle wheel, but that will just take a day, so plenty of time til the noce days of spring, and the alloys will need a furb too, so looking orward to the better weather and some dry sunny days out.
Cheers dude!!!!
