Hi Everyone,

A newbie here, I am Steve and I live in County Durham.

I am not a Porsche owner just yet but hope to be very soon, coming to Porsche ownership after owning an couple of Loti and an Aston V8 Vantage. I have been searching for a 964 for the past few weeks after selling my Elise SC. Always wanted to own a Porsche but seem to have taken a protracted route to finally doing it! I am also a big fan of Alfa Romeo and currently have a 159 Ti as my daily drive.

Have to say I am quite apprehensive about buying an older car and hence I am doing lots and lots of research. Coincidental with my PCGB membership pack arriving today I also made my first 964 test drive, a car from a well known independent dealer in North Yorkshire.

Hopefully I can get to meet some of you soon.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

Our monthly club night is next wednesday 10th October at the Dun Cow, Primrose Hill Bournmoor, County Durham DH4 6DY.

we start about 7.30, why not pop along, you'll be made very welcome and get some advice and pointers as you venture into Porsche ownership

Hi Steve

Welcome to the land of Porsche!

I hope you have many hours of happy driving ahead of you!!!!!!

As Ash says, R3 meets the second Wednesday of the month at the Dunn Cow and we are always pleased to meet new members. We use a room at the back of the pub having picked up a drink from the bar first.

There are some folk (excluding myself) who know a lot about the Porsche marque and some own some lovey older cars which are kept in mint condition so I am sure you will receive some very good counsel.

I will not be there on Wednesday but I am sure you will be made most welcome.

Best wishes

Hi,

Thanks for the welcomes and info on the monthly meet, unfortunately I can't make next week as I'm away on business but I'll certainly try to get to the November one.

Look forward to meeting you.

Steve

HI Steve

Welcome to R3, if you make sure i have your email address i will include you in the monthly email update following the meeting. Just pm me with the email address rather than post it on here. Also if you contact the club they will remove your guest status on the forum posts. Ash can provide you with more details on that
Look forward to meeting you

A quick update - I found my 964 and collected it last Saturday, an 89 Carrera 4 in Guards Red :)

Not sure if I can make the next meet just yet but I'll try my best.
