New member in York area

New member
Appologies for the new tread. But as I’m new to the forum I’m not sure what to post where. Anyway

Good evening Gents, and ladies of course .....
new member here in sunny Yorkshire living not far from York.
Tbh , I was looking for a fun second car to complete my mid life crisis that I’ve been having for most of my life and came across a Porsche in a local Garage.
Never really been a Porsche guy but i looked round it and thought "nice” then toddled of Home. But, the following day I still had this bloody car niggling away in my head , i thought sod it , I’ll call and make an offer , the car had sold just after leaving the garage.
After that I stated looking, it got well under my skin !
Anyway , by chance after getting it out to contacts and people in those circles a good pal who’s in the game knew of a car that may suit.

Cutting it short , I bought a 2004 966 C4S without seeing it in the flesh and never even driving one, the Missis thought " he’s deffo lost it” this time.

Well , call it a hunsh or gut feel , but with a FSH and low mileage, I took the plunge......

all i will add to that is I absolutely love it and the garage which was full of crap for the last 18 years is now pristine and housing my new love in my live !

Great to be be a member and totally get what you guys see.

Welcome Ian,
Glad you’re enjoying the car!
It sounds like you’ve missed the organised Club events for this year, but there will still be some good dry days to have runs out before things get going again in the Spring.
We had a run out on Sunday to the Lion Inn (Blakey Ridge) on the north Yorkshire moors.
Nice and sunny on the way up, it was trying to snow when we left!
We are in York too, so no doubt see you around.
Enjoy!

Hi Andy.
Thanks for the heads up, roll on next spring eh ! Be great to meet up with some owners in the area. I’d like to build some knowledge up.

Thanks again.

Hi Ian,
Perhaps we can organise something - Mark and Carol are close, and maybe we can see if anyone else would like to meet up and go for a winter run out one weekend...
Cheers,
Andy

Evening, ye I’m sure there will be a dry day or two in the coming months.
Hopefully!
Be good to get out if the Opportunity arose n obviously people were free.

See what happens eh.

Has next years official yorkshire get togethers been anounced yet ?

Whats the favourite local meet and national meet ?

cheers Ian

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the Club and congratulations on the new car. What an excellent way to celebrate mid-life, feet first heart over head [:D]

I think we have finished with the driving for this year, but spring won't be far away and we can get the toys out again. The gritters have been out quite a bit this week []

As well as the forum, we have our own section of the website www.porshceclubgb.com/r7 and a private Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/pcgb.r7

Hopefully we will catch up soon.
