Hi everyone,

I am looking to replace a few bits on my C2 Cab Gen 1 (996).

I am looking for;
1. a set of front seats
2. interior centre console

All looking bit tired and scratched, so letting the car down.

Any advice or recommendations ?

Many thanks

Hello James! Sorry I had too welcome to 996 my consel was getting tatty and I had a spare one so I had it sprayed look in what did you do with your 996. I was very pleased with the outcome. More of the members will be along to help!. Yours seats you could get them re covered depending on colour but there are plenty of breakers out there. Just google Porsche breakers and there three or four come up. Service parts check with your local Porsche garage and mention your a Pcgb member for discount. Have and enjoy.

Welcome Gary!

Before you give up on the seats, try refurbing them yourself with leather dye. I got a Dynamix Dye kit to touch up one of my seat bolsters (ooh-er, missus) and it brought it back like new.

As Simon says, you could colour code the console by painting it.

If you decide to replace them, try breakers like 9 Apart, or Boxsterbits.

I forgot to mention that all the parts I change or new for old I keep like my old consel just in case anyone wants to put it back to is original state.

I have to agree with Richard... I also recommend dynamix leather dye kits. It's easy enough to use and get great results for little cost. I would try that before any else. They will even help you with the correct colour codes. Hope that helps.

As Richard Says ALWATS get a quote from Porsche on parts
They are very reasonable.
I had a new oil cooler which was 189.00
The Coolant was 100.00 which is a rip off!

Trimmania nr Reading can refurb (clean and stain, not re-cover) a full set of leather seats for around £800 - and they do look like new when done. There are other clever classic car RE-trimmers out there who are very clever with remaining, leather rips and tears as well, near invisible repairs when done professionally and blended in.

how can you tell which colour and finish to buy

ive just got a black leather interior but cant tell if its gloss / satin etc etc

any ideas?

thanks!

Crozza, if you give them the interior colour code they can convert that into the colour name. Codes can be found on the sticker on the first inside page of the service book or underside of the front bonnet lid. Hope that helps. John.
