A wise upgrade
Yep, good choice! We"˜re obviously a little biased, here...

Thanks for the welcome guys! []
I have a feeling the quest may be long, but as long as the reward is there at the end I don't mind. It seems as though there are quite a few C4s around but not quite so many C2s - is this true or is it just what's available at the moment?
C4S was more popular at the time as it has the hips with all the bits

Not sure how your search is going but I'm seriously considering selling my Dec 95 993 C2. Midnight blue with grey interior, no mods or add-ons, just an honest 993 with 78k on the clock. Car serviced by Northway's 2 weeks ago and described as 'very nice'.
I'm near Swindon and happy to discuss further if you want.
Good luck with the search,
Martyn

Maurice has posted some stats here about C2s versus C4s which you may find useful :

Yes, I've seen that one and it looks quite good. I'd like uprated suspension and 18" wheels so I'll keep my open a bit longer before committing myself - the closer I can get to my preferred spec the better!
Btw, would I be right in saying that you've had your cars re-mapped in the past? I'd be looking at getting a bit more out of the engine, especially if I end up with a non-varioram car, and would be interested in opinions for and against.
Cheers
Andy
Yes I've had 3 993 carreras rolling road remapped - all by Wayne Schofield.
Lots on here about tuning the 993 NA engine and quite a bit about Wayne himself. Also lots on rennlist.
All my carreras have been remapped to around 310bhp (all varioram cars) by Wayne on high octane - in my case vpower. Fantastic results every time and you can feel it on the road even more than the figures suggest.
If you are interested in power then I recommend you go for a varioram car as a base - the tuning potential is greater plus you get that gorgeous 2 stage power step that you can feel and HEAR on the road....in fact I miss it dearly.
Good luck.
