HI everyone

Tom here, a new member living in Westcliff on Sea. I have recently joined the club with a 2002 seal grey 996 C2 pictured, I bought the car from the wife of the original owner having only covered 30000 miles and the condition really does reflect that. The car was originally supplied with Turbo Twist wheels which I have replaced for the pictured wheels, having recently had them refurbished.

My other passion is collecting vintage Omega watches but at the moment (since september) I must admit I have been somewhat distracted by the porsche.

The car will spend most of the winder months tucked up whilst the sturdy Golf GT TDI 170 get the brunt of the winter months.

I have made a few changes to the car, the addition of Artic silver dash strip and central air vents plus an alloy pedal set, I may also upgrade to M030 in the new year.

The car has been a pleasure so far! When I bought it it had only covered 1400 miles in four year as it had been stored, I had it thoroughly checked over and then serviced with a full diagnostic from Mercury Sports Classics in Brentwood and to date (touch wood) have had very few issues, a replacement oil pressure sensor and lower rear swing arm and thats about it.

Has a few options, PSM, Bose, hard back sports seats etc but it really is very much a stock car

Anyway, thats me

Cheers Tom

Tom!!

Looks lovely. I like the Carrera wheels. M030 is a really good upgrade if you have half decent roads in your area. It makes the car feel much more 'planted' and improves the look too.

Hi Tom

Welcome to the club.

Cars looks immaculate, liking the seats too! As Richard says, go M030

NIce motor. You won't be disappointed. Just washing them puts a massive smile on year face!

Welcome to the world of ownership!

Here are a couple of my favourite Chronographs

Omega Seamaster 'Bullhead' drivers chronograph (this example was NOS when I bought it, not bad for a 1969 watch)

DSCF2611.jpg

Omega Seamaster 'Skywalker' Chronograph, hard metal tungsten carbide coated case and really very rare (again 1969)

Most of my watch collection is rare early 'high end' quartz watches, Omega Marine Chronometers and Megaquartz's such as this beauty (the corner stone of my collection, 1977 watch original sold the day I was born in the jewellers in my home town)

DSCF2917.jpg

My daily wear is this beauty, a birth year (1977) Rolex Oysterquartz, one of the first 250 made and one of Rolex's rarer production watches

If you fancy seeing something a little rarer then there is this, 1/5 ever made Omega Megaquartz F2.4Mhz prototypes, the most accurate production watch ever made (accuracy of 1 second per month) and the forefather of the above Marine Chronometer

Welcome.

Strong theme here as I also have a bit of a thing for watches...none quite as rare as above though!

I was thinking-What a lovely hairy arm & clean hand you have[:)]
As to watches-I can only run to my 21st birthday Omega automatic -no bells or whistles-1963 model, leather strap automatic anologue plus my daily wear-Rolex Oyster PerpetualDatejust-gold/stainless bracelet-the rest of my "jewellery" money is in my Wifes Diamond solitaire ring-which alone is responsible for half our main home insurance premium[&o]

Hi - welcome to the club. Car looks nice. I am also in Westcliff.

(I am a watch fan and currently have a few Tag's, and a just got a new Rolex Explorer).

Are you going to try the car on any track days in 2012?

Hi Tom

I too have joined recently. Mine is a 2003 Carrera 2 in Meridian Silver with grey leather. Aren't they magnificent?

Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Stuart

Yep I am absolutely loving it, the only major problem I am having at the moment is that I keep trying to garage it for winter then keep getting it back out to drive [:D]

So far I am over the moon with it, I searched for long time to find a very low mileage example with the right colour combination and spec level and it's hasn't disappointed! I've just gone with Warranty Wise for extended peace of mind but am just thrilled with the car

Cheers Tom
