Hi all

Just like to introduce myself as a new Porsche owner.

A beautiful manual 997 C2 S in seal grey with turbo wheels, sports exhaust, sat nav, black leather and sports crono pack. I have been a member of this site for sometime now as my parents and brother have both had several Porsches but this is my first. I have come from a Clio V6 mk2 and a BMW M3 CSL.

I did not have the Clio very long but found it great fun in the dry and it did look fantastic I had 1 of only 27 in the Mars red on the down side I found it's a widow maker in the wet and a bit under powered.

The CSL I loved it the power, noise, seats, grip, handling basically everything I have no down side for this car but due to circumstances it had to go. Sold to a track day lover back to its real home the Nurburgring last time I heard it had changed colour from Seal grey to white had been full stripped out with a full cage.

My father currently has a 997 turbo in black with black leather and red stitching it has the full carbon pack, the short shift box, full tubi exhaust and DMS tuned .just superb

I am friends with Barry Horne the 2003 Porsche Cup Champion and he is currently racing in Europe in a GT3 I will defo be looking to him for some tips how to get the most from my new car. We have been discussing hiring Crail or Knockhill for a day out with friends where he could give some pointers maybe something we could arrange for form members

Back to my new car I have not had much chance to get the car out due to work commitments and with the rubbish weather we have had but have had 1 we wee run down the Moffet road with some friends. It was my first proper run in the 997 I know the road very well but it was damp so I was very light footed on my first run. In the group there was a Ferrari 430 spider ,Ferrari 360 and a Boxster S . Great fun to get out in the car for the first time but I am looking forward to doing the run again but in the dry. It has more power than the CSL and as far as I can tell it is quicker but need more time behind the wheel .I will keep you all posted as my Father ,brother and friends frequently do Scottish road trips

I was a member of the CSL form and I am looking forward to being part of this form and possibly taking part in some meets and road trips where I am looking forward to meeting you all

All the Best
