Hi all

Just like to introduce myself as a new Porsche owner.

A beautiful manual 997 C2 S in seal grey with turbo wheels, sports exhaust, sat nav, black leather and sports crono pack. I have been a member of this site for sometime now as my parents and brother have both had several Porsches but this is my first. I have come from a Clio V6 mk2 and a BMW M3 CSL.

I did not have the Clio very long but found it great fun in the dry and it did look fantastic I had 1 of only 27 in the Mars red on the down side I found it's a widow maker in the wet and a bit under powered.

The CSL I loved it the power, noise, seats, grip, handling basically everything I have no down side for this car but due to circumstances it had to go. Sold to a track day lover back to its real home the Nurburgring last time I heard it had changed colour from Seal grey to white had been full stripped out with a full cage.

My father currently has a 997 turbo in black with black leather and red stitching it has the full carbon pack, the short shift box, full tubi exhaust and DMS tuned .just superb

I am friends with Barry Horne the 2003 Porsche Cup Champion and he is currently racing in Europe in a GT3 I will defo be looking to him for some tips how to get the most from my new car. We have been discussing hiring Crail or Knockhill for a day out with friends where he could give some pointers maybe something we could arrange for form members

Back to my new car I have not had much chance to get the car out due to work commitments and with the rubbish weather we have had but have had 1 we wee run down the Moffet road with some friends. It was my first proper run in the 997 I know the road very well but it was damp so I was very light footed on my first run. In the group there was a Ferrari 430 spider ,Ferrari 360 and a Boxster S . Great fun to get out in the car for the first time but I am looking forward to doing the run again but in the dry. It has more power than the CSL and as far as I can tell it is quicker but need more time behind the wheel .I will keep you all posted as my Father ,brother and friends frequently do Scottish road trips

I was a member of the CSL form and I am looking forward to being part of this form and possibly taking part in some meets and road trips where I am looking forward to meeting you all

All the Best

Thanks looking forward to being part of this .

Talk soon

If you do manage to get Barry and Knockhill booked I'll try my hardest to be there. He was my instructor for my Porsche driving Experience, top bloke. Glad to hear he's racing still, I've tried googling to see what he's racing in but didn't have much success. Obviously he pretty handy, to come so close to Button and Wheldon in carts show's he's no slouch.

Hi "Vito", i will keep the Godfather and Corleon quotes to myself for now[;)]. Anyway welcome to the club, i am a bit of a newbie myself but good bunch of people with varied cars and good knowledge of the marque can be found amongst the members. There is always a few social events and the odd track days held so there is always something to do at some time or the other. There is a meeting in Stirling at the start of the month which would be an opportunity for you to meet up with some of the guys & gals. Someone will be along to confirm the dates as i am not sure if its the first Wednesday or Thursday of the month??

Nice car the 997S, i cant think of a better all round practical performance car at the moment to be honest and it is on my radar along with various other cars next.

Catch up with you soon enough.

Hi Vito...........welcome to the club, seen your thread in the 997 section too!!

I've a 997 C2S.......had her for 2 years now and still get a buzz everytime I go out in her. I absolutely love the car. Been down the Moffat roads so you must live near me. I'm Livingston, where are you??

There's a few of the guys who have ventured to the dark side and now own Ferraris[]!!! Jane has a TVR and I think the rest of us, are all Porsche[:D] of all makes and models!!

Hope you can make it to one of the meetings next month. It'll be advertised shortly I would imagine. Normally we're at Dakota South Queensferry on the 1st Thurs of the month but there's been a change for April & May. So watch this space!!!

See ya soon.
Kim

Oh, forgot to mention, go to Knockhill if you can, find Gordon, and he'll take you out for a spin[;)]..........well you know what I mean[:D]!! Hopefully, I might make it up there too. I'll bring my crash helmet and sick bag [:'(] Gordon!!!!

I am in Edinburgh so when I fancy a wee blast the Moffet road is perfect. I am lucky enough to get to drive my Dads Ferrari its great on the Moffet road but he still is a big Porsche fan has a 997 turbo and I love the raw TVR no ABS no traction control and great noise etc

Will keep an eye out for any meetings

Maybe see you soon
