hi all.

Just want to introduce myself to the forum. i'm from west yorkshire.

I have recently bought a porsche 944 s2 that is in need of some body work. Wanted a bit of a project [:-]

Second day i had it the drivers door handle mechanism went on me lol. Not a good sign.

Anyways its a fantastic car and i'm sure when it's complete will put a smile on my face for some time.

i have a question. Are the 924 and early 944 exterior door handles swappable on 944 s2 1990? Thanks

S2 door handle has a micro switch on it that works with the alarm. 924 /early 944 handles don't have this switch so you can't use them. Also it's probably the little plastic clip that's broken and not the handle. I'm sure if you go onto clarkes garage you'll find a how to to fix the handle.

The handles are essentially the same from a mechanical perspective. This used to mean a new handle, but you can buy a replacement (metal) part now, so keep hold of the one that you have. The bit that breaks is common to all Porsche 924 derived handles. VW handles are not the same though, despite their outwardly similar appearance.
