Hi, I'm a new member of PCGB, just joined a couple of weeks ago. I'm shipping my RS America to the UK next week to go on a extended dream vacation/drive around the UK and Europe. She should arrive around the 3rd week of May. I've been planning the trip for years and it's finally coming true. I'm also a member of the UK based 964 group http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/porsche964/. Tried to put this trip together last year, but things/life got in the way. This year everything seems to be falling into place, so I'm out of the planning stage into the "it's really happening" stage.
I've just recently given her a full 60k service, set valves, new PSS10 suspension, alignment, corner balance, and new tires. Had a new top end done a few years ago, was able to get 250hp at the rear wheels with mechanical upgrades and still using the stock chip, also put in a quaife lsd. She also passed California smog checks with flying colors after the top end. I've attached a picture of her taken 6 months ago at the PCA Lake Arrowhead Porsche Timeline Event.
I've been a driving instructor with PCASDR for the last 9 years and passed the PCA National Driving Instructor Course last year. Used to race a lot, but got into that area where I was taking it too seriously, backed off for a while, now it's just for fun and to keep my car control skills fresh.
I'm planning on attending the June 6th Open House at PCGB, hope to meet some of you there and more of you at Le Mans and other events. One other thing, Thank You to all at PCGB who have helped my dream trip come true, it is highly appreciated.
See you soon, Don Traver
