Hi,
Thought I wold post a quick 'hello' for the new year.

I have just acquired my first Porsche in May after a long diet of BMWs. I can say I am now a full convert.

Following a diversion on a whim to Porsche Hatfield to have a 'quick look' I somehow looked into the eyes of Guy Barclay at the wrong moment. Following a drive in a standard Boxster 981 managed to find myself repeating to myself 'don't get want you nearly want, get what you really want. The rest is history and a 2015 Boxster 981S has had me grinning all summer. I picked the right year for it.

I've been a bit of a biker over the years but have got a bit cheesed off with the all the gear...leathers, helmet, ear plugs, glasses...and nowhere to put anything when you arrive somewhere. I don't miss it for a minute. We have done a few mini tours to the Derbyshire Dales, Norfolk, Bath and it's proved economical and practical when cruising and fantastic with a bit of room and an open road, and of course a proper engine making all the right noises.

I hope to do a few events this year, I'm nearest to the Chiltern Group so may see you soon.

All the best

Alistair (Freeborn)

Terry runs the Chiltern Region and a really nice guy.

Welcome to the forum Alistair. Like you I drove a 981 first (Cayman) but once I drove an "S", that was what I really wanted and it's a blast!

Regards,

Gary
