Hello, newbie member here, I met a couple of you at the Teeside event on Saturday just gone, would be great to catch up with more of you at some point.

One thing I did notice and talked about with another member was the possibility of doing a joint Yorkshire and North East event for those of us that sit on the border between the 2 regions. Is there a way of doing this?

We both felt that Beamish was a fair run and difficult for us both to get to, and we have some lovely roads in the south of the region around Cleveland and north North Yorkshire! Mike

Morning Mike

Great to meet you at the weekend. We do often do inter regional events and drives, so there will definitely be something that will be in the south of the region often. (Check out the "Clear Away the Cobwebs" event 2nd April)

Regarding Beamish, this has become our unofficial club house because Alex (an R3 member himself) gives us a very fine location and dedicated space every second Wednesday of the month. It has a large safe and secure car park and a fantastic private space within the Stables restaurant and all for free.

There will definitely be meetings in the south also due to the fantastic relationship we have with OPC Teesside.

See you again soon

Dave

Thanks Dave

funnily enough, I just signed up for the Clear Away the Cobwebs on the 2nd (my other half is awaiting surgery so it's touch and go as to whether we get there) especially as some of it will be in my old stomping ground (Masham and area).

I will definitely try and get along to Beamish when I get a chance... :)

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Club. Glad to hear you are hoping to be at the Clear away the Cobwebs event. Whereabouts are you based?

Gordon.

Hi Mike and welcome to R3. It's a challenge for all of our Regional Organisers in the Northern Regions, having the largest patches with the fewest members, compared to the southern Regions. Our Region covers from Berwick in the North, across to the Pennines, and down to the Northern edges of North Yorkshire. Quite a spread. A "heat map" generated by HQ when Greg & I were ROs demonstrated that a huge majority of our members are based in & around Newcastle & Durham, making Beamish, as Dave mentioned, an ideal base.

Keep an eye on here as we tend to have drives & events all over our region & beyond, and support events hosted by our neighbouring regions too.

We don't need much of an excuse to get out in our cars. [;)]

Hope to see you at Clear Away the Cobwebs, if not before.

Deb
