NEW Members intro to R7 region

Hi All.

I've recently moved house from central London and looking to make new Porsche friends. Appreciating the impossibility of meets with COVID, I thought I would put myself out there and get some advice, tips and generally say hello.

I'll start with the important stuff - Got a 981 GT4 and Macan Turbo PP.
Apart from having to drive more (actually I have to drive everywhere) and realising driving behaviour on the road is very different than central London, any advice on good roads to drive, watch outs, any meets outside the club ones (which I'll go to post Lockdown). All advice and insight welcome.

Hope everyone is safe and well, Joe

Hi Joe,

Welcome to R7. If you email me at r7@porscheclubgb.com I can send you some routes that Zoe Whittaker has produced for us from our member's routes. We are in the process of adding events to our calendar so keep an eye on the forum.

Hi Joe

A big welcome to Yorkshire. We do in fact have some of the very best driving roads in the country, ideal for mid engined sports cars, and Macan turbos too.

What part of Yorkshire are you situated in?

Local pub meetings will start up before too long and you'll be able meet and routes and places to go there. Hopefully some outdoor meets will be possible after 17th May, and there may be some limited number runs out before then.

Look forward to meeting you sometime.

Graham

Welcome to R7 Joe, we are in the process of working through our 2021 events and look forward to meeting you at some of them.

Please check the R7 forum and Facebook pages for updates, looking forward to blowing the dust out very soon.

Thanks everyone for the friendly welcome. very excited to be in a very beautiful part of the world.

Am checking out the links to the drives - thanks for these.

managed to get up early whilst kids (and wife) seem to be sleeping in and see some countryside.

so the pheasants are quite interesting creatures!!!

Hey Joe ......... where you gonna run to now?

If you are able to get away early sometime and can meet us at 06:00 on a Sunday morning we have a few hand picked routes we can show you.

We usually have a breakfast stop somewhere and arrive back home in time for lunch.

The light mornings and the opportunities we have for a drive are only available for a short while so we try not to waste them.

Let me know if you fancy giving it a whirl.

Hey Joe you'd better run way on down ......... where you can be free.

Best regards.

Zeusy.

Welcome to Yorkshire Joe.

We are a friendly bunch up here (not just the club!), so will hopefully see you at one of the meets.
