Hi All

Just a reminder about our next meeting on Wednesday 16th Feb. As you will know this is our annual NEW Members Night, starting at 20.00 hours at Garstang Golf Club.

Our speaker this month is Alan Wheelan, who rode his ageing Triumph motorcycle from Lytham to a charity in Cape Town, without any backup team , unlike Ewan McGregger and Charlie Boreman,. This eventful journey took several months. Alan is an ex-journalist an now has a PR company. He has written a book about his adventure called "African Brew Ha-Ha" which is ranked highly on Amazon in the travel guide section. Alan should be bringing some copies along for sale also.

I have written at all the new members who have joined R18 in the last 12 months inviting them along. This event is a very friendly occasion where you will be made very welcome and have a chance to meet other R18 members. We usually have around 40 members attending our regular monthly meeting at Garstang Golf Club. Sandwiches are provided FOC at about 21.15. There is our normal monthly raffle in addition to a special Free Raffle just for new members. Wives and partners are particularly welcome.

I have attached the current edition of our events calendar and highlighted some new additions.

In my opinion the best guest speaker we have ever had at a meeting. Informative, interesting and entertaining. Looking forward to reading his book.

Probably one of the biggest turnouts for a winter month meeting as well. Luckily the hotel had enough chairs for people to use.

Cheers,
