New 'Next Gen' Cayenne ?

Spoke with someone today (not at Porsche, but normally well informed) who said that the 'all new' Cayenne would be announced in early 2010, with deliveries from May.

Rumour is, it uses the Audi Q5 platform, making it smaller, lighter and better to drive, and will be much better looking (not difficult[;)]).

Anyone know anything more?

I thought the Q5 was rumoured to be the basis for the Rockster/ Small SUV due 2013 and the replacement Cayenne will be bigger still. I'd certainly be interested in a smaller Porsche engineered 4x4

Out of curiosity I did some searching.

Inevitably there is a lot of unsubstantiated media speculation, but there is some credible evidence that says there will be only one suv model in the Porsche range - the Cayenne - and it will be smaller.

Apparently the new model was seen testing in Death Valley, alongside the revised Toerag, and although it bears some relationship to the old (current) model, the new Cayenne was smaller, suggesting that it would use the Q5 platform. The so called 'Rockster' may just be a 'red herring'.

If true, and we will know in a few months, the new Cayenne could be much more popular and desirable in the UK., especially with the much improved looks, economy (hybrid and diesel), weight saving and driving dynamics.

I though Daro posted up some pics a while back
on the Cayenne/Tiguan.??? I have been waiting for it to launch
as my "S" is too big for needs now .
