NEW NORTH YORKSHIRE CLUB NIGHT - LAUNCH 17th APRIL 2019 - SMITHS ARMS, BECKWITHSHAW

Calling all North Yorkshire members. The first club night in North Yorkshire takes place in just
1 month at The Smiths Arms, Beckwithshaw and we would like as many members as possible to attend the launch, meet old friends and make new ones, all united by our passion for Porsche.

Club nights are primarily social gatherings but it’s my intention that at about 9pm we’ll spend a few minutes talking about forthcoming events, who’s going, where members might meet to travel together and any topics or ideas members might want to discuss. I don’t anticipate this taking up more than 5 to 10 minutes of the evening. The ‘official’ start time for club nights is 8.00pm but in reality they start as soon as members gather. We will meet in an area to the right of the bar, the bar staff will point you in the right direction.

If it’s the first time you’ve attended a club night and you don’t know anyone, worry not but please make yourself known to me and I’ll ensure that you’re welcomed into the group. Whilst inevitably there will probably be more guys than ladies, everyone is welcome. Ladies, rest assured that chat will not only be about cars!

The Smiths Arms is situated right in the heart of the small village of Beckwithshaw near Harrogate on the B6161 Otley - Harrogate road. The pub has a large car park. We will meet in an area to the right of the bar but have the option to use part of the restaurant if we prefer it. There is an excellent menu for anyone wishing to eat.

Club nights will be held at The Smiths Arms on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

It’s hoped that eventually local members will run this club night with assistance from the CoG.

I look forward to meeting you there.

Regards

Thank you to everyone who intends to support this club night. We could do with a few more though so please spread the word.

Good turnout and a nice venue for our club night.
However it is a shame it was spoilt for us by a member who felt it appropriate to sit on our car whilst holding a conversation with another member whose car was parked next to ours, this is totally unacceptable and disrespectful behaviour that is not becoming of membership of the Porsche owners club.

Tim, I’m sorry that incident understandably spoilt your enjoyment of the evening. You are of course quite right.
If it provides any comfort I believe that the person concerned realised the error of his ways. I hope it won’t deter you from attending future club nights.
Best regards
Roger
