Hi guys,
Having recently purchased a fine looking 996 Carrera 2, I thought
I would re-join the club. I was originally a member in 1986 when at the
tender age of 23 I got myself a 1979 928. It was a lovely car and I managed
to keep it for 5 years until I needed a deposit for a house.(How often have you
heard that?). I also bought a 911 back then and I can't say I ever regret not
getting it but.........well, you know it's the itch that needs scratching. So here
I am the proud owner of a 1999 model with GT3 kit and Turbo wheels.

Looks like you got your car from Henry Firmin. How was that as a buying experience? I've never met anyone who has bought a car from 911virgin, but he seems a very straightforward sort of chap.

Hi Richard,
Yes, I did indeed buy from Henry. I actually was looked after by
a young chap called Daniel who is very proffesssional and seems to have an
in depth knowledge of the cars and although I know one Porsche from another
I'm not mechanically minded and wouldn't really know what I was looking at
so there was a fair amount of trust involved but I spent 3 hours with him and
he was very patient and was able to answer all my questions. Henry was always
around and introduced himself and we had a good chat. I had read a bit about
him on a couple of forums and his own website and he has a bit of a reputation
as being very forthright and I was expecting a bit of an overbearing figure who
would be very difficult to deal with. However he is very pleasant to talk to and
has a good sense of humour and seemed to have a genuine interest in my needs.
I have bought from many different dealers in my time and have to say this was one
of the most relaxed atmospheres in which I've bought a car and would certainly
use him again.
