Hi ya everyone.

just like to introduce myself to fellow 944 owners.
I recently purchased my 944 s2 about 2 weeks ago for a good price and i'm very happyy with the result.
Being a bit of a grease monkey for all thing early VW and Porsche i will proberly make a few alterations very soon.
I will be requiring some technical info as i want to carry out a cam belt change very soon and i will need to know what special tools i may need.
So if you don't mind helping me with some info i may be able to help you with some of my own.

Changing the subject slightly I also have a passion for VW's and Porsches and i have built a fair few cars in my time.
Proberly the wildest rides are a couple of VW vans {1 camper and 1 crew cab} with 964 3.6 motors in them.
Also in progress is a 1971 VW 1302 with a 2.1 turbo wbx motor, full cage and a g50 gearbox from a 3.2 carrera.
This will be a drag car which should be running by the summer.

Anyway enough about me.

Happy New Year to all!

The vans sound great!

As to the cam belt no special tools are needed, if you can put a 64 engine in a camper you will have no problem.

My car.

That looks like a really nice 944 you have there and I really do like the Vdub too. Can we have more pictures of both please?

I only have the 1 picture at the moment of the s2 but i will put some up later!

For now here are some of my creations from my garage.

I restored this in 07. Its a 2.1i auto caravelle with 996 bbs split rims.
Now living in devon.

My first 964 powered camper with nitrous. Managed a 14.9 sec 1/4 mile time without nitrous. Now living in Manchester.

They look very tidy and the 964 engined one must have been really good fun too.

I think I've seen the first red one before but I can't remember where though was probably about a year or so ago.

Thanks for the complements.

been running around in the s2 today and i'm very impressed with the ability of the car.

Great fun, economical, handles very well and you can knock up the mileage easy enough with out any discomfort.

Next jobs.
Cam belt, oil service and may be a bit of lowering.

Hi ya Stu, seems there is a natrual transission from the VW scene to Porsche as we get older.

I did enjoy the bus scene a lot but the drag racing side of things got the better of me and i don't want to party like the old days now. I just like to create wild 1/4 mile motors for myself.
The 944 will have a bit of track action this summer maybe with a few little tweaks!

Is your car stock of modified?

Very nice. Lovely interior, got the same cloth pattern in my turbo. Could you post more pics of it please ?

Gave her a good clean up this morning to remove the dreaded road salt.
Pictures look good but there is a few to many stone chips for my liking. Still i don't have to worry about any more appearing until its painted. I have noticed that some of the state side cars have bras on them. Can you get them over here?

Welcome fastbus, that car looks really clean. I like campers as well all though not anything like as much as my name sake, scarry thing is I have seen a picture of him in the paper and we even look related.

I think you will love working on these cars, some things are a PITA but in general these are great cars for the spanner handy. I now have 2 of em so I must like them. My brother was a mechanic and many times he has helped me out but he just flat refuses now to work on any car that isn't german and his preference is for older VW or pork.

I have also just purchased a 944S2 and it came with a car-bra which I had intended to list in the members "for sales" or on E bay. It seems to be unused and comes with all the instructions. I have no idea what to ask as yet, as it is not something I have ever investigated. Let me know if this would be of interest.
